Phillips Condemns Iranian Cash For Hostages Deal

LAS VEGAS, NV, September 21, 2023 - Stephanie Phillips, Republican candidate for United States Senate condemned the Biden Administration for its $ 6 billion cash for hostages deal with Iran. Phillips said that the United States should never negotiate with a terrorist regime and Biden's payment of blackmail will encourage Iran and other regimes to take Americans hostage in exchange for cash. Under the deal the United States granted Iran access to around $6 billion in cash as part of the prisoner swap, money that the hardline regime in Tehran says can be spent in any manner it chooses. After the deal was formalized last week, Iran announced that it is kicking out nuclear inspectors affiliated with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), the global watchdog in charge of ensuring Iran does not build a nuclear bomb. Phillips said this was a continuation of Biden's weak foreign policy. Under Biden, our enemies are strengthened, and American lives are put at risk. Phillips said.

"Iran is being rewarded for taking Americans hostage," said Stephanie Phillips. "This is a national disgrace and is a pattern of Joe Biden's appeasement to our enemies.

"Our nation has held a strict policy of never negotiating with terrorists but under Joe Biden this is what we just did," continued Phillips. "Contrast this with the Trump Administration that got Americans out of North Korea and other nations without paying a cent. This was because these nations knew there would be consequences.

"With Joe Biden our enemies are emboldened, and American lives are endangered," concluded Phillips. "Not only did Iran walk away with $6 billion they mock us and use the money to buy weapons to then go and kill our citizens and our allies. This is a national disgrace."
