Before joining Mesirow Financial, Mr. Cartwright was affiliated with William Blair in Chicago as a partner and head of the firm's taxable fixed income from 1983 to 2010. He also held the title of vice president and director of the corporate bond department at First Mid America Inc. in Chicago between 1981 and 1983. Among other noteworthy roles, Mr. Cartwright was employed by Dean Witter, Paine Webber, and Bear Stearns.
Well-known in the industry for his strong work ethic, Mr. Cartwright typically works extended hours. He has also published bond charts on buy and sell signals and has spoken publicly before the Institutional Investors Bond Conference. As a trusted and educated executive, Mr. Cartwright aims to continue providing his services and expertise and positively impacting the industry, specializing in underwriting and selling credit tenant leases and ground leases, as well as private bond transactions.
As a dedicated civic leader in his community, Mr. Cartwright has served as the president of the Clarendon Hills Little League, as a member of the board of directors for the Hinsdale Community House Basketball Program, and in varying roles with the Hinsdale Youth Center, the Chicago Bond Club, the Boosters Club of Hinsdale Central High School, and other local organizations.
Mr. Cartwright graduated from North Park College (now North Park University) with a Bachelor of Arts in 1968. He also received credentials as a licensed stockbroker.
