Distinguished for his expertise as an award-winning composer, guitarist, music instructor and author, he has found much success as the owner of Vince Lauria Studios. In this capacity, Mr. Lauria is responsible for teaching guitar, piano, digital recording, assisting recording artists with song development and production, and composing music for films and television. Vince has personally taught worldwide celebrity Sinbad, and child movie star Christopher Convery. He also instructed worldwide touring celebrities Chris Iorio of rock band Adelitas Way and Palaya Royale.
Mr. Lauria initially began his vocation working as a private classical guitar instructor. He served as an instructor at the Dick Grove School of Music and as a technical adviser to Guitar World magazine. He also received a Clio award for his work with Leonard Kovner. Moreover, he has collaborated with such notable artists as Tommy DeVito, Denny Laine, Dave Marks, Duncan Faure, Timothy Hutton and many more. In his career-related endeavors, Mr. Lauria has also authored numerous instructional textbooks, including "Learn to Burn on Rock Guitar" (Mel Bay), "Heavy Metal Solos for Guitar" (Mel Bay), "Teach Yourself Rock Guitar" (Mel Bay), and "The Rock Riff Dictionary for Lead Guitar" (ADG Productions) which can be found on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Borders, and other leading international booksellers among others. His music theory blog was rated in the top 50 with Cambridge and Harvard Universities.
Well-regarded for his contributions to the field, Mr. Lauria has received multiple awards, including the Clio Award and the Gold Medal for Excellence Audience Choice Award for the Best Impact of Music in a Documentary for "Man of a Thousand Faces," to name only a few. Reflecting on a long career, he attributes much of his success to his passion for music, dedication to succeed and to the people who supported him along the way, including Rafael Garcia, Chris Ayers, Kay and John Guerin, his mother Char and his brother, Gary, who gave him his first guitar. Looking toward the future, Mr. Lauria will be publishing more of his music library for movies and television, and he will also be completing a pop-rock album cartoon series that he created with Rafael Garcia.
