Backed by years of professional experience in allopathic and alternative medical research, Dr. Anderson presently excels as an active Research Physician and Senior Research Scientist in the Pathology Department at Stony Brook University. In this capacity, he works with physicians, alternative medicine healers and scientists to claims substantiate ingestible therapeutics, cosmeceuticals and electro – magnetic field devices.
Before embarking on his professional journey, Dr. Anderson received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Michigan and an active MD from the University of Texas. Over his early years of post-medical school training, Dr. Anderson gained valuable skills in medicine during his residency to become a physician in New York Medical College and Westchester County Medical Center and as a Pulmonary Fellow and Research Associate in the Stony Brook University School of Medicine.
Following his Pulmonary Fellowship and Post-Fellowship Training positions, Dr. Anderson gained invaluable experience as an active Project Administrator for a research project between the Phosgene Panel – CHEMSTAR of the Chemical Manufacturers Association - the CMA and New York Medical College. His unique ability to coordinate physicians, research scientists and technicians led to him being offered a position as an Administrative Coordinator between the U. S. Army Medical Research Command, New York Medical College, the Pathology Department at Stony Brook University and the Cancer Research Institute at New York Medical College.
Following his training and experiences as Project Coordinator in numerous multi-center projects, Dr. Anderson facilitated the development of a multi-center medical school and research facility collaborative approach toward product evaluation as it relates to specific claims substantiation of final products and their component parts. In projects relating to Medicinals, Nutraceuticals, Cosmeceuticals, Naturopathic Remedies and Electro-Magnetic Field Devices, Dr. Anderson continues to coordinate efforts to utilize claims substantiation data in advocacy position statements, in the fulfillment of legal and regulatory agency requirements and in marketing strategies designed to foster corporate and product name recognition, image enhancement and credibility reinforcement. Over the years, Dr. Anderson has found that once medical school-affiliated scientist and physician consultants are effectively coordinated, they can offer consultative input as medical school research data and associated advocacy position statements are highlighted during marketing, regulatory agency, legal, fundraising, investor, stockholder and celebrity spokesperson presentations. This particular type of consultative input that Dr. Anderson developed and refined during his career has been found to be very valuable over the years to management teams of companies planning strategies designed to widen name recognition, broaden corporate and product credibility, enhance consumer image, attract celebrity sponsors, justify expanding funding needs and expand stock opportunities.
In recognition of his outstanding body of work, Dr. Anderson has been inducted into Strathmore's Who's Who, the second edition of "Great Minds of the 21st Century," and America's Registry of Outstanding Professionals. Similarly, he won the Residency Teaching Award through New York Medical College during the early years of his career. The cornerstone of his success lay in his extensive medical education, vast number of experiences and being very open-minded and non-judgmental.
While his career has been filled with highlights, Dr. Anderson is most proud of the fact that he's been able to facilitate efforts to introduce and incorporate research methodologies based on in vitro human cell-based models to replace more costly and less relevant animal studies in research programs for military, legal, and commercial applications. For this goal, Dr. Anderson who is himself a true animal lover, continues to support projects that are funded by fully charitable donations into the Stony Brook Foundation, Account Number # 291050 which supports work that utilizes "In Vitro Alternatives To Animal Testing". This account in Stony Brook University was developed almost 20 years ago to honor Dr. Anderson's father – Arnold Anderson and later his mother – Barbara Anderson and continues to be supported to date.
