BEAVER FALLS, PA, July 07, 2023 - Donald Robert Inman has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Mr. Inman retired from a long and successful career in electronics as a master electrician at Jones & Laughlin Steel Corporation in 2001 after more than 40 years. Apart from his distinguished service in the industry, he began serving as the board chairperson for the Beaver County Industrial Museum in 1985, a role Mr. Inman still maintains. Recognized as a charitable nonprofit organization in Darlington, Pennsylvania, the museum houses photographs, slides, and artifacts from companies and industries throughout the 19th and 20th centuries. It is also home to an extensive collection of books related to steel and Steelworker Unions #1211 and #1212 and on local glass, an industry that offered the most employment during the 19th century. Additionally, the museum has many magazines and other literature published by Beaver County-operated companies.
A published author, Mr. Inman released "History of Patterson Township Beaver County PA 1841-1976" via Patterson Township in 1976. He also co-authored "Portraits in Steel: An Illustrated History of the Jones & Laughlin Steel Corporation" with David H. Wollman via Kent State University Press in 1999.
Apart from his primary responsibilities at the museum, Mr. Inman has been involved in genealogy. He has also been very active as a chairperson and board member in his church. Involved in many civic initiatives for over 50 years, Mr. Inman was elected as the Patterson Township Commissioner in 1972. During his first four-year term, he built a 50-acre park. He also helped students become qualified for community college and attend the local police academy. He also started a full time police department. He is presently serving his sixth term as the vice president, which ends in 2025. Moreover, Mr. Inman served two terms on the Beaver Co. Intermediate board representing area school districts from 1983 to 1991 and served three terms with the Blackhawk School Board, including one term as president.
Mr. Inman graduated from Beaver Falls High School in 1958. He subsequently received certification in electronics and a first-class commercial Federal Communications Commission license through the Grantham School of Electronics in 1960. Additionally, Mr. Inman completed a course at the University of Leicester in 2016 titled Behind the Scenes at the 21st Century Museum.
Recognizing his community efforts, Mr. Inman received a Letter of Recognition from Federal Bureau of Investigations Director J. Edgar Hoover.
