Victoria Gough Excels in Interior Design

FAIRBURN, GA, June 29, 2023 - Victoria Gough has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

At the age of 58, Ms. Gough decided to pursue her passion for interior design by enrolling at The Arts Institutes International, completing coursework and holding a 3.9 grade point average from 2009 to 2010. Following the tragic passing of her mother and stepfather shortly thereafter, she departed from her studies until 2012, at which point she continued her studies at the Design Institute of San Diego. She concluded her academic efforts in 2015, graduating from the Design Institute of San Diego with a Bachelor of Fine Arts. Ms. Gough later refined her skills in her newfound field as an interior design assistant with La-Z-Boy Furniture Galleries in Temecula, California between 2016 and 2017.

Before she shifted her attention to a career in interior design, Ms. Gough worked as a certified facilitator and an administrative assistant in engineering for Station Casinos in Las Vegas, Nevada. She subsequently served as an options assistant with Pardee Homes between 2002 and 2005, assisting design consultants with new home buyers to ensure homes were personalized to everyone's satisfaction. From 2005 to 2006, she was active as a customer service representative for ISI/Bairs in Las Vegas, Nevada, a role in which she tended to customer and builder complaints regarding flooring concerns, such as buckling carpet, scratched or stained tiles or delaminated wood. In her early career, Ms. Gough became proficient in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Adobe Photoshop, and Rivet as well as in more hands-on physical skills as hand drafting, sketching and rendering.

Since 2017, Ms. Gough has found success as the chief executive officer and founder of VG Designs LLC, her own environmentally-friendly interior design firm based out of Atlanta, Georgia. Establishing the business alongside a house-flipping company that unfortunately went out of business, Green Valley Property Management LLC, she works alongside a contractor to remodel and redesign basements, a post in which she chooses the necessary lighting and paints needed for her client's specific functions and aesthetic. As a CIDA-accredited interior designer, she also handles every aspect of the day-to-day operations of VG Designs LLC, including finance, shopping for sustainable materials, and managing all presentations and consultations. Likewise, Ms. Gough communicates with her clients and prospective clients, interviews clients regarding their renovation desires, assesses client properties and contacts the contractor with necessary instructors.

Renowned for her creativity as a team-oriented professional, Ms. Gough has been greatly inspired by her family, as her mother and aunt both harbored a unique ability to design. Furthermore, she was motivated by the creative accomplishments of her cousin, St. Louis Globe-Democrat cartoonist Alphonso Dalton, and her uncle, noted charcoal artist Namon Rochelle. She has also been driven by her passion, which enables her to thrive within her field in her 70s. Ms. Gough currently dedicates much of her spare time to her loving family, which includes her son, her four stepchildren and her 12 grandchildren.

Beyond her primary professional endeavors, Ms. Gough has been affiliated with the American Society of Interior Designers and the National Association of Professional Women. Moreover, she has proudly contributed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and the American Cancer Association as a donor. Ms. Gough has further supported her community by helping to redesign her local church and providing volunteer assistance in planning and acquiring donations for the Annual Casino Night-Monte Carlo for A Bridge for Kids.

As a testament to her excellent undertakings, Ms. Gough has been honored with various accolades throughout her career. In 1999, she received a Leadership 2000 Level I Award from Station Casinos. Several years later, she was inducted to the President's Honor Roll and the Dean's List by The Art Institute of Las Vegas in 2008 and 2009, respectively. However, Ms. Gough is incredibly proud of being selected for inclusion in the VIP Woman of the Year Circle by the National Association of Professional Women in 2017, a recognition that was personally co-signed by the president of the NAPW, Star Jones.

Ms. Gough attributes her success to the unwavering support and encouragement of her husband of more than 30 years, Leon, who motivated her to return to academia and pursue interior design. She is also grateful for her stellar reputation as an interior designer, having often exhibited a positive work ethic, outstanding communication skills and a wealth of experience in the customer service, hospitality and training industries. Among the many highlights of her career, Ms. Gough fondly recalls remodeling a kitchen that had been previously described as a "total disaster" prior to her work on it, and believes the final outcome of the project remains among her most significant transformations.

Looking toward the future, Ms. Gough hopes that one of her designs through VG Designs LLC will be featured in Architectural Digest. In addition to this ambition, she hopes to continue collaborating with Green Valley Property Management LLC on their Atlanta-based projects in the coming years.
