A seasoned business coach and mentor with years of international experience in cross-cultural leadership, strategic problem solving, revenue planning, and more, Mr. Alden presently excels as chair of the Peer Advisory Groups for CEOs and Business Owners at Vistage. Since joining the company in 2014, he has been part of a network of more than 24,000 members with the intent of improving leadership effectiveness. Prior to joining Vistage, he worked as the director of business development for CHEP Automotive Solutions and as the president of Southeast Asian and Japanese operations for Ford Motor Company through which he drove profit turnaround between 2006 and 2009.
Between 1978 and 2007, Mr. Alden expanded upon his professional knowledge through varying roles with Ford Motor Company, including vice president of marketing, sales and service, national dealer relations manager, Midwest regional manager, regional director for Asia Pacific Direct Markets, and marketing manager, just to name a few. Throughout the course of his decades-long career, Mr. Alden helped achieve year-end regional vehicle volumes in China, India, and South Africa, led marketing and sales operations, and directed daily business operations.
Outside of his work, Mr. Alden dedicated himself to his community through Habitat for Humanity work in Thailand and as a vice president of the Bangkok, Thailand Chamber of Commerce. An expert in his field, he holds a Bachelor of Arts in economics from Connecticut College and an MBA in marketing from Babson College's Graduate School. Subsequently, Mr. Alden expanded upon his professional knowledge, earning a Six Sigma Green Belt, and completing the Ford-Fuqua Executive Education Program at Duke University.
Considering his vast breadth of knowledge, Mr. Alden earned a distinction in economics from Connecticut College. While his career has been filled with highlights, he takes the most pride in building the group at Vistage from scratch and remaining successful for more than 30 years in the corporate world. The cornerstone of his success lay in being a lifelong learner and taking the opportunity to grow from his mistakes. Looking ahead, Mr. Alden aims to continue to build his CEO groups at Vistage.
