At the outset, it must be stated that after serving the academic/professional community for over ten years, Kwame Nantambu was selected as an "Outstanding Young Man of America in 1986 in recognition of outstanding professional achievement, superior leadership ability and exceptional service to the community."
In 1982, Dr. Nantambu's professional career peaked when he was appointed Associate Professor and Acting Chairman of the Graduate Program in International Studies at Howard University. In all, Dr. Nantambu spent 13 years at Howard University.
In 1990, Dr. Nantambu joined the Department of Pan African Studies at Kent State University where he served as an Associate Professor and Director of the Institute for African-American Affairs Dr. Nantambu spent 13 years at Kent State University.
Dr. Nantambu has been a member of the Afri-centered Association for the Study of Classical African Civilization (ASCAC) since 1984 and this professional association has enabled him countless opportunities to present lectures on African history at conferences throughout the United States.
In addition, Dr. Nantambu has traveled and lectured on African history in England, Ghana, Senegal and ancient Kemet (Egypt).
Dr. Nantambu has been published in such prominent journals as the Journal of Black Studies Third World Quarterly, New England Journal of Black Studies, Western Journal of Black Studies and an Encyclopedia titled Global Perspectives on the United States: A Nation By Nation Survey.
Dr. Nantambu's books include Decoding European Geo-politics: Afrocentric Perspectives and Egypt and Afro-centric Geopolitics: Essays on European Supremacy.
One of the highlights of Dr. Nantanbu's professional career is the time he served as the Book Review Editor for the respected journal A Current Bibliography on African Affairs and since 2001, all of Dr. Nantambu's research articles can be found on his website trinicenter@yahoo.com.
