Paul Salerno Celebrated for Dedication to the Field of Aviation

SPOKANE, WA, June 19, 2023 - Paul Salerno has been included in Marquis Who's Who. Drawing on his many years of expertise in commercial aviation operations, flight safety and safety management systems, Mr. Salerno presently excels as the president of Omni Air Group. In this capacity, he works closely with clients and his development team to create and continuously improve Omni's flagship product, the OmniSMS® Aviation Quality and Safety Management System (QSMS). Prior to becoming CEO of Omni, he was an owner / operator of Salair Air Cargo, who was at one time the largest operator of DC-3 aircraft in the US. During his time with Salair, Mr. Salerno served in various key management positions as Chief Pilot, Director of Operations, Chief Inspector, and Director of Safety under 14 CFR Part 119 of the Federal Aviation Regulations. Outside of his work, Mr. Salerno is an accomplished performing musician, and provides support to those less fortunate through Feed the Children, Doctors Without Borders, and the Islamic Relief Fund.

An expert in his field, Mr. Salerno became an A&P mechanic and earned an Associate of Applied Sciences degree in aviation maintenance technology from South Seattle Community College. He holds an airline transport pilot certificate with type ratings in the DC-3 and Convair 240/340/440 aircraft. Mr. Salerno also earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Science from Central Washington University. Through his work with Omni, he has authored numerous aviation safety eLearning courses, and is a leading expert on 14 CFR Part 5 compliance and FAA's SMS Voluntary Program standard.

While his career has been filled with highlights, Mr. Salerno takes the most pride in working alongside other industry and IT experts to continuously improve the OmniSMS® Aviation Safety Management System. The cornerstone of his success lay with his parents Joseph M. and Edith E. Salerno, who both worked for Pan American Airways and inspired him to find his career in aviation. He also acknowledges his brother Bruce, who persuaded him to co-own and operate Salair Air Cargo for almost 20 years. Looking toward the future, Mr. Salerno intends to continue to help aviation service providers of all types effectively manage quality and safety using system safety principles, safety culture enhancement, and conformance with Part 5 of the Federal Aviation Regulations.
