FORT SMITH, AR, June 16, 2023 - Abdul-Nasser Adjei has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Backed by years of professional expertise in medicine, Dr. Adjei presently excels as an interventional cardiologist with Baptist Health Cardiology Center at Fort Smith. Since 2000, he has served as the chief of cardiology and as the director of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory, through which he conducts a variety of surgical interventions, including angioplasties. Likewise, Dr. Adjei has supervised 10 other board-certified cardiologists and four nurse practitioners for the last two decades. Alongside his work, he contributes to those less fortunate by providing free health care for people in the Northern part of Ghana, West Africa.
Over the years, Dr. Adjei has fostered his professional knowledge in various aspects of cardiology such as ICD and pacemaker implantation, interventions of coronary and peripheral arteries, ischemic heart disease, peripheral vascular disease, and valvular heart disease. Due to his vast breadth of expertise, he has also parlayed his knowledge to others as a part-time professor and assistant clinical professor at the Arkansas College of Osteopathic Medicine. Driven to remain abreast of ongoing industry changes, Dr. Adjei is affiliated with the American College of Cardiology and the Association of Black Cardiologists.
Before embarking on his professional journey, Dr. Adjei earned his MD from Haccetepe Medical School in Ankara, Turkey. Subsequently, he expanded upon his knowledge via a fellowship at The Downstate Medical Center. Throughout his career, he has been honored many times, earning a Congressional Honor for his charitable work in Ghana. Similarly, he won the Solution of the Year Award in 2019 and was named the Best Cardiologist for the last four years. While his career has been filled with standout moments, he takes the most pride in fostering the group with which he works at Baptist Health. Another highlight is his current role as the governor of the Arkansas chapter of the American College of Cardiology. Though hard work and dedication have brought him far in his career, he credits his success to his ability to keep people together and his love of what he does. Within the coming years, Dr. Adjei intends to wind down professionally so that he do more charity work in less developed countries.
