A native of Cuba, Mr. Benitez has built a global presence as a nuclear engineer, and as a specialist in the conventional energy sector, in his home country, Colombia and the United States; in fact, he cites his permanent move to the United States and realizing success as an entrepreneur as his most notable achievements thus far. He is well known as an international energy consultant and has dedicated time to teaching at the university level, and Mr. Benitez maintains a broad network through memberships in the Association of Energy Engineers, and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers.
Extensive academic accomplishments have proven foundational to Mr. Benitez's professional advancement. He earned a Bachelor of Science in nuclear engineering from the University of Havana in 1982, after which he pursued a Master of Science in thermal power generation and industrial cogeneration from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, completing the graduate degree in 1985. Mr. Benitez also proudly boasts industry certifications as a professional engineer and nuclear engineer.
