FORT WORTH, TX, June 07, 2023 - Rev. Matthew D. Gordon has been included in Marquis Who's Who. Mr. Gordon is a software engineer celebrating more than 30 years of success in information technology fields. Since 2021, he has been a senior software engineer for State Farm Insurance based out of Irving, Texas. At State Farm, Mr. Gordon is responsible for back-end development and design, including supervising a team of ten engineers who contribute to product upgrades and design management.
Mr. Gordon studied philosophy and psychology at Collin College and has received extensive additional training in areas including computer support and repair, networking, and assembly equipment. He began his career in 1993 as a forklift operator for DEPRAG, a German firm with warehouse locations throughout the United States. Though he started at the Lewisville, Texas location, he was soon transferred to Germany, where he spent the next six years working his way up through the company, eventually becoming general manager of service and warehouse operations. He left DEPRAG in 1999 to join Apple as a support specialist, and he would remain with the company as a Genius until 2005, when he became a senior engineer for Think Fixed, Inc. He continued to build his information technology skills across industries, serving as a member of the Fresnel Technologies technical staff from 2009 until 2012, and contracting with IBM from 2013 until 2016. He joined TEKSystems in 2016 as a senior software engineer and briefly departed in 2019 to accept a role with First Cash Financial Services before returning as an infrastructure automation developer in 2020.
Outside his work in software engineering, Mr. Gordon is passionate about the performing arts, and plays jazz and blues guitar. He has received numerous awards for his creative ventures and involvement in the arts. He is also an ordained minister who has dedicated himself to serving others in globally underserved communities, and he has been involved in charitable efforts that have diverted more than 100 vulnerable children from being victims of human trafficking. As a part of these efforts, Mr. Gordon has helped build safe houses and orphanages in Honduras, work he hopes to expand in the coming years.
