BETHLEHEM, PA, May 26, 2023 - Tracy L. Groller, MS, PMHNP-BC has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
A skilled and dedicated nurse practitioner and board certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner, Mrs. Groller is currently licensed in four states. She recently accepted a position at Landmark (part of Optum and UnitedHealth Group) where she will be working as a behavioral health consultant. In this position, she diagnoses patients and prescribes medication as indicated or recommends therapy. She also reviews patients for behavioral health case managers and recommends treatment adjustments, collaborates with primary care providers to advise mental health treatment, and performs direct evaluation of patients with significant diagnostic and therapeutic challenges. Mrs. Groller also develops and delivers in-service training for longitudinal Landmark providers and other interdisciplinary team members. She will also continue her work as a board certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner with Minded on a part-time basis.
Prior to these posts, Ms. Groller worked for St. Luke's University Health Network for 25 years until 2021. She commenced her tenure for the health network as a registered nurse in 1996 and went on to work as a clinical specialist, clinical coordinator and research nurse in interventional radiology from 2000 to 2013. Subsequently, she served as the manager of neurology from 2013 to 2018 and was a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (inpatient and outpatient during the COVID pandemic) from 2018 to 2021. In addition, Mrs. Groller had also dedicated time to teaching as a nursing instructor at Pennsylvania State University from 2014 to 2016.
Upon reflection, Ms. Groller considers her most notable achievement was her time working for St. Luke's Neurology, in which she helped grow the team from nine providers to 32, for a total of 70 providers including inpatient providers. She did that for three years, all while in college full-time to become a nurse practitioner. With this sentiment, she achieved a post-master's certificate in psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner from DeSales University in 2018.
To launch her career in health care, Ms. Groller earned an Associate of Science in Nursing from Northampton Community College in 1996. She went on to matriculate at Moravian University, where she achieved a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2010 and a Master of Science in Nursing Education in 2013. During her education, Ms. Groller was granted with the Honor Society of Nursing Award from Sigma Theta Tau, a Graduate Award in Nursing-Nurse Educator from Moravian University and a Pride, Caring, Respect, Accountability and Teamwork Award from her peers in St Luke's University Health Network and a Shining Star award by her employees. Mrs. Groller also completed a mission trip to Honduras while attending Moravian College. She traveled with peers at Moravian College and took part in the MAMA Project-deworming project. She provided medical care and medication, poured cement floors in villager homes to prevent continued worm infestation due to living with mud floors and taught the villagers how to filter water using two 5-gallon buckets to provide clean drinking water in multiple different villages.
Mrs. Groller attributes her professional success to the support of husband, family, friends, educators and employers. She credits various mentors for their support and encouragement, including Dr. Hal Folander, in interventional radiology, Don Norder, a nurse manager, and Laura Dobrosielski-Hetrick, her partner in neurology. She also notes some of her professors, including Janet Sipple, Michelle August-Brady and Pam Adamshick.
To remain abreast of her field, Ms. Groller holds membership with the American Psychiatric Nurses Association and American Nurses Association. She is also a certified Reiki practitioner. Looking toward the future, Ms. Groller has goals to spearhead a practice as a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner. She also wants to continue to precept new nurse practitioners in the field. A member of the Lehigh Valley Women of Adventure, she enjoys walking outdoors in her spare time.
