Alongside her role as Project Leader, she serves as a research affiliate at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
During the early stages of her career, Dr. Miller gained valuable expertise in the field as a teaching assistant at MIT, a VentureLabs fellow for Flagship Pioneering, a research fellow for the BUBBL Group at the University of Oxford, and in research assistant roles with Caltech. Outside of her work, she dedicates herself to her community as a co-founder and Board Member of Solvandria Foundation, which aims to accelerate global health solutions focusing on translating early-stage research and development innovations and on educating and training young professionals. Likewise, she is a mentor at MIT and Manush Labs.
An expert in her field, Dr. Miller completed coursework in the mathematical modeling of infectious diseases at Imperial College London. She received a Bachelor of Science in Bioengineering from Caltech and a PhD in Biological Engineering from MIT. Driven to stay abreast of changes in the field, she aligns herself with Tau Beta Pi and the Society of Women Engineers. In recognition of her outstanding body of work, Dr. Miller has been honored on many occasions, earning the Rambus "Innovator of the Future" Scholarship, the J. Edward Richter Memorial Undergraduate Research Fellowship and The Robert L. Noland Leadership Award from Caltech, and the Best Research Presentation Award through the MIT Tata Fellows Seminar, just to name a few. Malvika has published her work in journals such as Nature, Science, and PNAS.
While her career has been filled with highlights, Dr. Miller takes the most pride in helping large pharmaceutical companies make critical decisions about what technologies to invest in. The cornerstone of her overall success lays in being intellectually curious, staying focused, and being a team player. Within the coming years, Dr. Miller aims to build upon her industry knowledge with the goal of bringing exciting technologies to larger markets.
