MESA, AZ, May 01, 2023 - Raymond K. Hanna has been included in Marquis Who's Who. Leveraging more than three decades of excellence in aircraft maintenance for the United States Navy, Dr. Hanna has earned distinction as a professor and associate dean for the Defense Acquisition University. Since 2018, he has focused his efforts on teaching strategic thinking on a transformational level as well as teaching courses in logistics, acquisition, contracts and program management to defense acquisition workforce personnel. Additionally, he has been an adjunct professor for the University of Massachusetts Global since 2015.
Before starting his private career, Dr. Hanna served honorably in the United States Navy for 39 years. In recognition of his dedicated service, he was honored with three Meritorious Service Medals, 10 Commendation Medals and was named Distinguished Officer of the Year. Utilizing the momentum of his service, he became an S-3 A/C Navy instructor for the Naval Air Maintenance Training Group Detachment in 1992 and served as a division officer for the Aircraft Intermediate Maintenance Department of the USS Ronald Reagan (CVN-76) in 2005.
Following this time, Dr. Hanna functioned as the officer-in-charge for the Naval Air Technical Data and Engineering Service Command in 2007 until becoming the deputy branch head for the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center in 2010. He subsequently functioned as an aircraft intermediate maintenance material control officer and maintenance control officer for the United States Navy in 2012, earning a promotion to an assistant aircraft intermediate maintenance officer and aircraft maintenance officer in 2013. The next year, he served as an N422B4 aircraft transition and UAS officer until taking a role as a test line director for the Fleet Readiness Center Southwest in 2016.
Following his military service, Dr. Hanna served as an adjunct professor for Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University from 2015 until 2012. While developing his professional journey, he earned a bachelor's degree in aviation maintenance management from Southern Illinois University in 2003. Following this achievement, he attained a master's degree in organizational leadership from the University of Oklahoma in 2008 and a Doctor of Education in transformational leadership from the University of Massachusetts Global in 2014. Well-qualified in his field, he is certified in airframe and power plant mechanics by the Federal Aviation Administration.
Within the coming years, Dr. Hanna intends to retire from his full-time role with the Defense Acquisition University while continuing to teach at the University of Massachusetts Global. Although he may return to teaching full-time, he plans to travel with his wife and spend more time with his family, including his successful children.
