OJAI, CA, April 27, 2023 - Ulrich Paul Brugger has been inducted into Marquis Who's Who. Mr. Brugger is an established businessman and the founder and director of The Ojai Retreat & Inn in Ojai, California, since 1993. Recognized as an award-winning, public, nonprofit corporation, his uniquely designed spiritual retreat offers 12 guest rooms surrounded by nature and breathtaking views of the Ojai Valley. Catering to individuals, couples, and groups, Mr. Brugger is responsible for the center's daily operations and organizing various on-site cultural and educational events and programs for guests and community members.

Having discovered the five acres of land while on a walk, Mr. Brugger notes that it was once a spiritual place of worship for the Chumash Indians. After learning that the five-acre piece property had become available for sale, he decided to create a non-profit corporation in order to purchase the land and eventually develop what is now known as The Ojai Retreat & Inn.

A town with great history, Ojai has long been a tourist destination known for hosting various recreational activities and special events for locals and visitors for many years, including music, film and wine festivals. Located just north of Ventura and less than an hour south east of Santa Barbara, Ojai offers mountainous views and a Mediterranean climate.

Looking toward the future, Mr. Brugger aims to offer more seminars, particularly about education, human relationships, the art of living and time management. He also hopes to share his experiences and best practices with others. Mr. Brugger notes his success in hospitality to his persistence, despite numerous financial and other challenges along the way. He believes in the significance of the inn, its incredible energy and tranquility, and hopes to keep it open to the public for years to come so others can enjoy and appreciate its beauty.

During an earlier stage of his career, Mr. Brugger was active in education. Apart from teaching at several public and private schools in Switzerland and the U.S., he was director of the famous State School of Parents in Geneva, Switzerland. He hold a M.A. in educational sciences from the University of Geneva.

Dedicated to his community, Mr. Brugger has long been an Ojai Valley Chamber of Commerce member. He also supports various charitable events and organizations in his free time.

In recognition of his leadership in the industry, Mr. Brugger's inn has received recognition as The Best Cultural Center in Ojai and received a Certificate of Special Congressional Recognition for outstanding and invaluable service to the community. Additionally, Mr. Brugger was honored with a Certificate of Recognition from the California State Senate and a Spirit of Ojai Award from the Ojai Valley Chamber of Commerce. The Ojai Retreat & Inn became a certified California Green Business in 2023.
