Having accrued more than two decades of professional experience as a writer and editor, Ms. Meadows excels at her craft, exhibiting a talent and passion for storytelling. Since 2018, she has excelled as an editor for KNOWAtlanta Magazine; she also has been the owner and president of Green Meadows Communications LLC since 2000.
A distinguished freelance feature writer, Ms. Meadows has had more than 5,000 articles published in a wide variety of local, regional and national consumer and trade publications. Likewise, she has contributed to more than a dozen hardcover pictorial books about small-to mid-sized cities, written corporate and organizational histories and worked with companies of all sizes to craft internal and external marketing messages.
Ms. Meadows attended Kennesaw State University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Communication in 1997, followed by a Master of Arts in Professional Writing (MAPW) in 2003. In the earlier years of her career, she worked as a corporate event manager for Prudential Georgia Realty and public relations account coordinator for WestWayne between 1998 and 2000. She had also gained experience as an account coordinator for Duffey Communications in 1998.
In addition to her work in journalism, Ms. Meadows is the author of the children's book, "Emma's American Chinese New Year," published in 2012. Met with great acclaim and success, the book was the recipient of a 2012 Moonbeam Children's Book Award from The Jenkins Group and Independent Publisher Magazine and a 2013 IPPY Award from Independent Publisher Magazine. Among her other written works, in 2017, Ms. Meadows contributed a chapter to Jeff Kagan's "Stroke Recovery Stories: Humorous and Inspiring Stories Told by Stroke Survivors and the People Who Love Them." The chapter recounted her family's experience with her father's stroke and the recovery process.
A member of the American Society of Business Publication Editors and the National Association of Independent Writers and Editors, she feels lucky to have had such extensive opportunities to write for various magazines and publications. Looking ahead, Ms. Meadows hopes to continue telling people's stories through her writing and exploring new avenues for her passion for many years to come. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, boxing, cooking and spending time with her family.
