Nicole R. Riess,MEd,has been Inducted into the Prestigious Marquis Who's Who Biographical Registry

FOLSOM, PA, April 26, 2023 - Nicole R. Riess, MEd, has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Leveraging more than a decade of excellence in early childhood education, Mrs. Riess has earned distinction as a K-2 learning support teacher at Joseph E. Johnson Elementary School. She previously worked as a first grade elementary education teacher with Edgmont Scholars Academy where she focused her efforts on teaching students in all academic areas, including aiding their social and emotional development. Additionally, she lent her expertise as a PBIS core team leader and coach and is both an instructional leadership team member and mentor teacher.

Mrs. Riess began her career as an EAP summer school teacher for Highland Park Elementary School in 2006, returning in 2007. She subsequently was a special education and general education math teacher with Widener Partnership Charter School from 2006 until 2008, serving as an organizer for the school's Franklin Institute field trip in 2006. She also was an esteemed presenter for the Differentiated Instruction Workshop with Widener Partnership Charter School the same year. Following this time, she became a first grade elementary education teacher for Chester County Family Academy Charter School in 2008 and took a role as a second grade elementary education teacher there in 2013.

Outside of her primary career efforts, Mrs. Riess collaborated with the Teacher and Artist Partnership Program of the Chester County Family Academy Charter School in 2015 and with their music and literacy long-term residency project from 2016 until 2020. She also served as the school's social media manager, PBIS core team communicator, "REAL Tutors" liaison and leadership team and panel member during this time.

Among her professional accomplishments, Mrs. Riess is proud to have been named a Word Wall Presenter by Edgmont Scholars Academy in 2022. She won third place in a bulletin board competition from the Widener University Student Education Association in 2004 and was honored with a Mabel M. Elliott Outstanding Student Teacher Award by the Association of Teachers of Mathematics of Philadelphia and Vicinity in 2006.

Likewise dedicated to civil advocacy, Mrs. Riess has volunteered her time and expertise to numerous charitable efforts, including engaging in community outreach events for Widener University from 2001 until 2006. She has participated in the "Grounds for Music" Outdoor Festival in 2010 and was a volunteer for the West Chester Summer Soiree fundraiser for the Chester County Family Academy from 2016 until 2019. During this time, she also was a volunteer co-host and disc jockey with the Chester County Family Academy's "Family Fun Night" and volunteered for a Shop with the Sheriff program. Through her role with Edgmont Scholars Academy, she has volunteered with the school's Trunk or Treat, school dances and Positive Messages on Restorative Restrooms events.

Prior to embarking on her professional journey, Mrs. Riess earned a Bachelor of Arts in elementary and early childhood education from Widener University in 2005. Following this achievement, she attained a Master of Education in special education from the same institution in 2006. Well-qualified in her field, she holds certifications in early childhood, elementary and special education from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Within the coming years, Mrs. Riess intends to continue her leadership in her new school, Joseph E. Johnson Elementary, located in the Red Clay Consolidated School District. She will return to special education and focus her efforts on providing learning support for students in grades kindergarten through second grade.
