Before embarking on his professional journey, he earned a Bachelor of Science in physics and mathematics from The Hebrew University of Jerusalem as part of Talpiot Elite Academy of the Israeli Air Force. Subsequently, he received a Master of Science and Doctor of Science in physics from Technion-Israel Institute of Technology. In 2004 he won the Wharton business plan competition and the second place in the Global business plan competition in Singapore. In light of his professional achievements, Dr. Ben Dor has been honored many times, earning the Excellence in Design for Medical Devices Award in 2007, the Medical Devices Company of the Year Award through Frost and Sullivan in 2008, and the Patient Impact Award via Life Sciences Pennsylvania in 2012 and 2023. More recently, he received the Voltage Award for Technology Innovation through SmartCEO.
