The Florida Department of Transportation certified GovComm's wrong way vehicle detection system and added it to their Approved Product List permitting purchase and installation statewide. Wrong way vehicle detection systems are installed on highway exit ramps to help deter head-on collisions. The GovComm system warns drivers traveling in a direction counter to one-way traffic flow by activating highlighted flashing wrong-way warning signs so that the driver can take corrective action. The system also provides time-sensitive written and image notifications to the local traffic management center.
GovComm's AI is unique because the company solved the issue of video reliability in ITS settings by creating vehicle detection systems that combine an ITS camera for any light or weather condition, a powerful AI engine and a hardware platform with 100 times greater system resources than other commercially available solutions.
The Company's bi-spectrum ITS camera has high-definition optical and thermal sensors, each providing exclusive video streams for system monitoring. The thermal sensor captures and detects varying levels of heat and assigns temperature defined pixel colors that identify shapes of people, vehicles, and other objects in traffic scenes regardless of environmental conditions. GovComm's AI software engine is a real-time object detecting machine learning platform that identifies, classifies, and analyzes the presence and behavior of vehicles, persons, and other objects. GovComm interoperates with advanced traffic management system software and pairs with ONVIF® compliant ITS cameras.
Instead of inadequate ITS camera on-board processors, GovComm AI systems rely on powerful Nvidia edge devices with substantial CPU and GPU resources. GovComm AI systems do not require other detection hardware such as radar or LiDAR which are prone to inaccuracies and false positives.
