DROPS Trainer Virgil Chaison of VC Inspection will facilitate the program. As a bonus, all Tuesday, May 4th participants in the webinar will receive the Recommended Practice Gap Analysis Excel sheet to conduct a preliminary study of your equipment/facility.
This course follows the practices developed by Dropped Objects Prevention Scheme (DROPS), a global initiative focused on preventing dropped objects. These recommended practices were developed by a coalition of oil and gas professionals to set basic Dropped Object prevention requirements that can be incorporated into existing company Safety Management Systems.
This introductory session will cover:
A. The Five Part Training Topics:
Prevention of Dropped Objects
Minimum Requirements for Lifting, Hoisting, Rigging, and Crane Operations
DROPS Inspection
DROPS Hazard Management
Reporting and Performance
B. Description of training format:
That evening we will release the first prerecorded video to all registered participants.
Every 3-days, we will release one of the remaining lessons videos until you have received all five.
Provided both a shared and private group space for thirty days for questions and facilitate putting the learned content into practice. Instructors will monitor and reply.
On Tuesday, May 25th, we will host a 30-minute wrap-up to go over lessons learned and best practices.
Each lesson will contain - 15 to 30-minute video on the subject; Overview with visuals to support the video; Modifiable checklist covering a variety of equipment

Virgil Chaison of VC Inspection, https://vcinspections.com/, is the lead instructor. Virgil received his training from the Global Initiative DROPS and has completed countless CAT III and CAT IV Inspections and structural audits inspecting primary and secondary equipment for damage, wear, and fatigue. He often consults with engineering on major repairs, oversees the repairs, and inspects according to the applicable code. He has over a decade of experience in the oil and energy sector.
