ARLINGTON, Va. - April 1, 2021 - March of Dimes (http://www.marchofdimes.org/marylandmetrodc) is now accepting nominations for the 21st Annual Heroines of Washington awards. Presented by Perspecta, the awards honors professional women in the D.C. region for their commitment and leadership in community service efforts.
Awards will be presented for the following categories:
● Healthcare Heroine Award - Presented by ASRC Federal
● Professional Services Heroine Award – Presented by M&T Bank
● Public Sector Heroine Award - Presented by Carahsoft
● Real Estate Heroine Award
● Technology Heroine Award – Presented by ManTech
● Rising Heroine Award - Presented by PwC
● Lifetime Heroine Award – Presented by Perspecta
● Corporate Heroine Award – Presented by KPMG

The deadline to submit a nominee is July 23, 2021. Nominees must live in Maryland, Northern Virginia or Washington, D.C. Self-nominations will be accepted.
"The March of Dimes Heroines of Washington Awards is an annual opportunity to recognize and celebrate the significant and important work that women are doing, outside of their day jobs, to support our communities. This event is a great way to acknowledge these individuals while encouraging others to serve," said Jennifer Felix, ASRC Federal president and CEO. "We look forward to thanking and honoring our new Heroines this November."
This year will mark a return to Heroines of Washington's in-person gala event. Winners will be recognized at a black-tie gala on November 16, 2021, at the Ritz-Carlton Tysons Corner from 6–9 pm. A live stream will also be available for those who prefer to celebrate virtually.
As in previous years, guests will include directors, CEOS and other high-level individuals and leaders from local organizations, businesses and government. Proceeds from the event will support March of Dimes programs, research, community services, education and advocacy to advance research that supports the health of all moms and babies.
Since 2001, March of Dimes has honored over 126 "Heroines" and raised more than $3.6 million to support its mission. Sponsors include Perspecta, ASRC Federal, M&T Bank, PwC, ManTech, KPMG, and Carahsoft.
