SAFETY HARBOR, Fla. - March 30, 2021 - With fifty years in the music business, Neal Fox has a reputation for "saying what needs to be said." His songs about human trafficking, vaccines, and school shootings, make him both revered and reviled. But the message "The Good in Us" delivers should not be ignored. The single is available across digital platforms on April 12.
When discussing critical race theory Fox says, "This subject stirs up fear and hate, and creates even more division. We're being told that we're born racist because the color of our skin dictates it. That's not only a lie, it's ridiculous. All you have to do is open your eyes. There are mixed couples, mixed families, mixed friendships. For the most part, we all get along."
What really gets him is that this "theory" is being spread throughout society, and is being taught to children. Realizing the potential harm in this, Florida's Governor Ron DeSantis refuses to make it part of the school curriculum. Christopher F. Rufo, Candace Owens, and Ben Shapiro, also protest CRT in their own ways.
When asked about "The Good in Us," Fox replies, "I wrote this song to bring people together. It's meant to heal. It doesn't matter who we are, or what we look like, there is good in all of us. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise."
Because Fox expresses himself freely, he occasionally gets shadow-banned. He is also prevented from advertising on Facebook and Google due to "sensitive" issues. But with its upbeat sound and heartfelt lyrics, this song is exactly what's needed in these stressful times.
With the emphasis in the last line— "the good in all of us"—the point is clearly made.
Fox would love to have a huge virtual choir, with people singing the song and videotaping themselves. But for now, he is settling for getting the song "out there."
