NEW YORK - March 20, 2021 - The Brooklyn Award Program has selected the Film Lab (www.film-lab.org), as Winner of the 2021 Best of Brooklyn Awards in the category of Non-Profit Organization.
Film Lab is an organization dedicated to the promotion and support of racial and gender parity in entertainment media with a focus on Asian Americans. The Film Lab's core management team consists of actor Jennifer Betit Yen, President; artist Daryl R. King, Vice President; private equity associate Gabby Busche, Treasurer; audio engineer, Ray Lanuza, Secretary; and playwright Cheryl L. Davis, Legal Advisor. The management team is assisted by an advisory board and a dedicated team of interns, volunteers and contributors. The Film Lab recently opened registration for its annual 72 Hour Shootout filmmaking competition, which creates mentorship, exhibition and promotion opportunities for underrepresented groups, particularly Asian Americans.
The Brooklyn Award Program was created to honor and generate public recognition of the achievements and positive contributions of businesses and organizations in and around Brooklyn. Their mission is to raise the profile of exemplary companies and entrepreneurs among the press, the business community, and the general public.
