RENO, Nev. - March 9, 2021 - Mad Wife Productions has launched a crowdfunding campaign (https://www.gofundme.com/f/fundraiser-for-waking-up-80) to finance a family-comedy film Waking Up Eighty starring Betty Kennedy and Cicely Capozzi.

Waking Up Eighty (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt13542552/?ref_=nm_flmg_prd_5) is based on a novel written by Shola Lawrence. It tells a story about Kara Stewart, 16, who is fed up with just about everything, especially her mom's annoying new husband. After a fight, she runs away. But, things quickly change when she gets hit by a car and wakes up in a nursing home at the age of 80.

A proof of concept film of Waking Up Eighty was filmed in January 2021 and is now doing the festival circuit. It will be released to the public later this spring.

Betty Kennedy (also known as Waters) is an actress best known for Remington Steele (1982), Cheech and Chong's Next Movie (1980) and The Rockford Files (1974).

Waking Up Eighty is Cicely Capozzi first lead role. She is represented by Justine Reyes at the Tru Talent Agnecy.
