BOSTON - March 7, 2021 - Lynn Bentley, President of Knobull announced, "TeleEd is the process of providing learning support from a distance through our Web App and phone discussions. It provides a range of free services including learning skills or career evaluations, academic coaching, career guidance and time management. This includes direct interaction between a member of the Knobull team and the student. It encompasses consultations and support delivered in live, interactive communication."
Phone-based support helps meet student needs for convenient, and readily-accessible learning support services. It can benefit a student or new employees in a number of ways, such as:
Improve access to real time planning and/or problem solving that might not otherwise be available
Bring coaching to the student's location
Reduce the need for visits with instructors
Reduce delays in issue resolution
Improve continuity of issue resolution and follow-up
Reduce the need for time spent to access face-to-face appointments
Reduce the barrier of stigma
While some individuals may be reluctant or feel awkward talking to an instructor, boss or administrator, experience shows most can be comfortable with an empathetic third party. Some can be more relaxed and willing to open up from the comfort of their home. Those interested should leave a request at the Knobull Contact page in the site menu section.
TeleEd allows our team to support more people in distant locations. Although the program has the disadvantage of the student and coach not being in the same room, it can create enhanced feelings of safety, security and privacy for many. There is substantial evidence of the effectiveness of remote support and research has found satisfaction to be high among students. TeleEd is equivalent to in-person support in assessment accuracy, support effectiveness, quality and personal satisfaction. Individual privacy and confidentiality are always strictly maintained.
Bentley concluded, "Research has also found that overall experiences among students and workers has been excellent. There are many times where this program may be preferable to in-person support. There are some individuals that are introverted, prefer remote learning, prone to anxiety or students with physical limitations that may find remote support particularly useful."
