February 17, 2021 - Crosbie Gliner Schiffman Southard & Swanson LLP (CGS3), a rapidly growing commercial real estate law firm, announced today the addition of Stephanie Sweat as an associate attorney and Claudia Alvares as a senior paralegal in its Los Angeles offices.
According to CGS3 founding partner Sean Southard, both Sweat and Alvares add immediate value to the firm's LA-based team. Sweat has a stellar practice record in commercial real estate law, working as a real estate associate at high profile firms including Husch Blackwell in Denver and Shepard Mullin in Costa Mesa. Her background includes real estate finance, sales and acquisitions, commercial leasing and development. She has also served as a judicial law clerk for the Supreme Court of Nevada and in addition to California, is licensed to practice law in Colorado and Nevada.
Licensed to practice law in Brazil, Alvares has parlayed 15 years of high-level loan and back leverage finance, renewable energy, real estate finance/acquisitions and tax equity experience into her work as a senior paralegal. Prior to joining CGS3, she was a senior paralegal at Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP in Los Angeles, working for the firm's Global Project Finance Group. Fluent in English, Spanish and Portuguese, she has further honed her legal skills and knowledge as a senior paralegal at SunPower Corp., Platinum Equity and Morrison and Foerster LLP.
Sweat holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Boston University and earned her J.D., cum laude, from the University of San Diego School of Law. Alvares earned her J.D. from Pontifical Catholic University of RS, Brazil and holds international law and business certificates from UC Los Angeles.
