The program expansion reflects a renewed commitment to supporting the legal community through timely and actionable insights for running more successful law practices.
Affinity Consulting has been working with legal organizations and bar associations for over 20 years. The company's consulting services range from comprehensive firm analyses and recommendations to legal technology implementations and training. Affinity webinars – most of which are open to the public at no cost – are led by Affinity partners and senior consultants, many of whom are former practicing attorneys.
"We look at our webinar program as a way to 'share the wealth,'" says Affinity managing partner Debbie Foster. "Our consultants have decades of experience working with legal professionals across all practice areas. Not only do they love helping our clients find better ways of working, but they also love opportunities to share their insights with the broader legal community."
Affinity's webinar program had already been in place for a number of years when the COVID-19 pandemic forced law firms into a remote working model overnight. In response, Affinity quickly shelved all scheduled sessions and mounted a series of multiday virtual training events aimed at helping firms address the management, productivity and technology challenges posed by stay-at-home orders. Registrations for these events topped 1,000.
"We feel like it's really important to meet folks where they are," explains Beth Thompson, Affinity's director of client engagement. "Last year, law firms were scrambling to figure out how to survive in hybrid and fully remote environments. We knew we could ease those transitions, so we dropped everything to create hours of free training content specifically related to working remotely. This year, we're looking forward to getting back to basics and helping firms plan for the long term."
Affinity's 2021 webinar schedule reflects a shift in the legal industry from a reactive to a proactive stance and includes more sessions per month than have previously been offered.
