ESSINGTON, Pa. - Feb. 12, 2021 - TVS Sports Network, the oldest sports network and cable sports network in the USA and the fourth oldest TV network in the USA, has readied a full time cable network to deliver to cable systems on a barter basis. The channel is expected to commence on December 25th, but will activate earlier should NBC shut their service down beforehand. Any cable systems that wish to seamlessly transition from NBCSN to TVS will be able to do so.
TVS Sports Network began transmitting national sports programming to broadcast TV stations in 1960. For two decades, TVS was the leading independent TV network in the USA, programming college basketball, major college football bowl games, NASCAR, LPBT Bowling, WFL Football, NASL Soccer, Championship Boxing, AIAW Championships, ATP Tennis, Virginia Slims Tennis, LPGA Golf, Grand Prix Racing, ABA Basketball, WHA Hockey, Pro Rodeo, and hundreds of other major sports events.
In 1976, TVS produced and distributed the first live national commercial cablecast - in association with Young & Rubicam, via satellite. The event was a WHA Hockey contest between the Edmonton Oilers and the Birminham Bulls.
Currently, TVS streams six 24/7 ad supported free to view TVS Sports Networks. TVS Sports Network is joined by TVS Women Sports Network, TVS Turbo Sports Network, TVS Classic Sports Network, TVS Boxing Network, and TVS Tavern TV Network. TVS has just launched the TVS Sports Bureau, it's feature news channel, as a a streaming 24/7 service.
TVS Sports Network will program 60 years of classic and current sports on cable systems. The programming will include 500 hours of new TVS First Look original programming that is being produced around the world and at TVS Studios in Philadelphia.
TVS Sports Network will be available to cable systems on a no fee barter basis.
