METUCHEN, N.J. - Feb. 11, 2021 - The Jersey Bearcats recently partnered with Anderson's Meet the Need organization to feed their homeless neighbors in the Ashbury Park and Newark communities.
Most teams spend the day of their Championship game-tying up loose ends, calming nerves, and getting ramped up to meet their opponent. The Jersey Bearcats, however, spent the morning giving back to those most in need in their local community. Just hours before the scheduled kickoff, the team was hard at work doing one of their favorite things - serving others.
"When we looked at community partnerships, we wanted to partner with a like-minded organization so that we could make the most impact in our community," said Co-owner Jermaine Sanders. "Andersons Meet the Need is a blessing to others and encompasses the same commitment and sentiments that our team does when it comes to connecting in the community."
The Jersey Bearcats started in the morning handing out breakfast and snacks to the homeless in Ashbury Park, NJ at the Trinity Church. After that, they went to Newark, NJ at the Penn Station Transportation Center to pass out lunches. Anderson's Meet the Need organization was perfect for the team to partner with and they are hoping they can help out again soon.
