SAN MATEO, Calif. - Feb. 2, 2021 - Dear Editor: (Or perhaps I should say...Dear Sweetheart)...
For a very special Valentine's Day...
Enclosed is a poem about love in our digital age...It's a poem I wrote called "Robot Love."
"ROBOT LOVE"
Copyright 2010, Robert M. Barrows
I didn't know she was a robot until I kissed her.
You couldn't tell by the tongue action,
but she clearly didn't have a heartbeat and she
didn't even have to breathe.
It felt a little bit like necrophilia,
but that didn't mean she was dead…
far from it.
This robot was built for pleasure,
but that didn't mean she was easy, too.
This one could play hard to get if she wanted to,
and even if she never got tired,
she was programmed to stop after the passion died down.
Did I really fall in love with a robot?
