LITTLETON, Colo. - Feb. 1, 2021 - Industries that have significant volumes of fluids to measure and allocate could be losing thousands every day. Just a 0.25% error in measurement on a 10,000 barrels per day Custody Transfer Liquid Metering System equates to a significant loss to a producer, transporter, end users or owner. With WTI Crude prices trending higher, a 0.25% loss could cost a producer over $1333.00 per day or nearly $500,000 per year!
Convergence Controls & Engineering (Convergence), a Denver based and globally recognized System Integrator Giant, is now offering expanded offerings to compliment Controls and Engineering in Measurement Solutions. Rob Crow, Principal, is excited for the natural expansion of offerings, "Our customers already rely on us to provide standardized programming and control solutions for their automation and measurement programs. By formally focusing on Measurement Solutions, our customers can further benefit from consultation, standardization, and third-party reviewed measurement best practices to keep their programs accurate, reliable and defendable."
The new offerings around Measurement Solutions will primarily be focused around liquid and gas measurement. These include measurement program assessments, measurement system engineering and design, flow computer application standardization, measurement system control cabinet fabrication, real-time / historical data collection, LACT standardization and volume analysis/balancing.
To head the initiative, Convergence has added Marc Talamantez as Vice President of Measurement Solutions. Talamantez has over 25 years in Measurement Control and Automation Solutions establishing an industry leading recognition. He has lead measurement initiatives in natural gas, crude oil, NGLs and produced water, brings related international measurement experience from working and living in the Middle East and headed a software systems group for a recognized Global Leader in Custody Transfer Measurement systems.
"Most energy companies have no idea just how inaccurate their programs are, and how easy it can be to address the millions of dollars they may be losing," says Talamantez. "Our focus will be to expand on Convergence's reputation as a brand agnostic integrator to develop standardized, modular, and easy to deploy measurement solutions and programs to save our customers money."
