TOLEDO, Ohio - Jan. 28, 2021 - Daniel Hect assumed the position of President of the Ohio Small Police Department Association (OSPDA) in January 2021 following his role as Board member for the organization.
Daniel has spent his adult life serving others, he retired as a Security Forces Master Sergeant from the Air Force Reserves, after 32 years of service; he also retired from the University of Southern California Department of Public Safety with 26 years of service. Daniel has continued his law enforcement career in Ohio, serving Denison University, Xavier University and the Village of Hartford as Chief of Police over the last seven years
During his tenure working on college campuses, Daniel re-shaped these departments into a professional organization and gained recognition of the National Association of Campus Safety Administrators as the Director of the Year for his community policing outreach.

Daniel is an alumnus of the University of Phoenix with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, he has a Master's Degree in Liberal Studies from USC and a Doctorate of Education with an emphasis in Organizational Leadership at Argosy University.
