ASTON, Pa. - Jan. 23, 2021 - The TVS Television Network, the fourth oldest commercial broadcast TV network in the USA, will launch TVS Sports Network as a full time cable TV network at the end of the year. The launch will coincide with the discontinuation of NBCSN on cable systems.
TVS Sports Network.Com is currently a 24/7 free to view ad supported post cable network on the WatchYour.TV platform, powered by Tulix. It is one of a six channel sports bundle from TVS, including TVS Tavern TV Network, TVS Turbo Network, TVS WomenSport Network, TVS Classic Sports Network, TVS Boxing Network, and TVS Sports Bureau. Via apps from Watchyour.TV from Amazon, ROKU, Google, Apple, and Web TV, TVS sports can be seen on all IPTV and Mobile devices as well as on Smart TVs in 85% of TV homes in the USA.
Tom Ficara, owner of the TVS Television Network for the past 34 years, began the first cable sports network, All Sports All Day in 1970 while still in college. This marks his return to cable TV after positioning TVS in broadcast, IPTV, OTT, Mobile, and home video platforms. TVS also owns the Mizlou Television Network library and Video Techniques.
TVS Sports Network will transmit from it's studio facilities in Philadelphia. A Temple University alumni, Ficara began his career with the Philadelphia Bulldogs and later was Business Manager of the Pottstown Firebirds. In 1972, he became Assistant Athletic Director for Promotions at Temple University.
