National Cattlemen’s Beef Association Revitalizes Office 365 Adoption

January 18, 2021 - Plainfield, IL - A new case study was published today that reveals the impact of ‘contextual microlearning’ on technology adoption at the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association (NCBA). By using an innovative training solution from IT firm VisualSP, the NCBA saw a significant increase in Office 365 usage.

The Denver, CO-based NCBA began using Office 365 in 2015, but had seen disappointing levels of user adoption. Internal company surveys showed that many staff were frustrated by the new technology. Meanwhile, the NCBA’s IT helpdesk were continually fielding the same basic requests for help, which was a drain on resources.

In 2018, the trade association chose to deploy VisualSP and its innovative ‘contextual microlearning’ approach to user training. VisualSP provides help and guidance that relates directly to the page that an Office 365 user is currently viewing. By providing training in context and at the moment of need, users can quickly get answers to their questions and get the most from enterprise IT.

“Since we deployed VisualSP, the negative comments about business technology in our annual user survey have melted away” reports Seo Tapia, the NCBA’s Executive Director of IT. In the two years since VisualSP was introduced, the NCBA’s Office 365 usage statistics have risen significantly, trivial IT helpdesk calls have decreased, and user satisfaction has rebounded.

The new case study also shows how this approach to Office 365 training has been especially useful during the Covid-19 pandemic. With more people working from home, in-context training means NCBA staff can get help when they were away from their colleagues.

“I can confidently say VisualSP has had a very big impact” says Jessica Garcia, the NCBA’s SharePoint administrator. She explains that almost all staff have used contextual microlearning modules since VisualSP was deployed.

Asif Rehmani, CEO and founder of VisualSP explains that “contextual microlearning is especially helpful for organizations like the NCBA where many employees are used to more traditional business technology and need extra help”. Rehmani adds that “the NCBA’s usage statistics are the proof that contextual microlearning has a real impact for technology users”.
