FT. LAUDERDALE, Fla. - Jan. 12, 2021 - Cruising and live entertainment are two of the industries hardest hit by Covid 19. Florida residents Marguerite Scott and Jeff Taveggia have decided to do something about it. In March of 2020 when all of the cruise lines ceased operations, Marguerite a producer of shows and events and Jeff a headline guest entertainer along with their friends and colleagues lost all of their work and future contracts.
"Not having a place to perform is the most difficult thing for entertainers, not only because it is our passion but it is also our livelihood" says Jeff a comedy juggler with 30 years of experience.
Partnering with Empire Stage on Flagler street the two are set to produce a weekly variety show and offer live entertainment to the community as well as get the local wealth of performers back onstage.
Opening weekend for "Scandalous Nights Variety Show" is January 29-31, 2021. Each show will feature three acts showcasing the best in cruise ship and local entertainment from novelty acts to burlesque, comedians, singers and drag. There will be something for everyone. The show is rated 18 and over.
