CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Jan. 12, 2021 - Every year, the more than 28,000 legal professionals across North Carolina are asked to recognize their peers who do an outstanding job in their respective categories. Business North Carolina magazine compiles these votes and recognizes the best of the best as their Legal Elite for the year. Venn Law Group is proud to announce that two of its attorneys, Eric Bass and Garth Dunklin, were selected for 2021.
"Garth and Eric's commitment to providing practical, actionable advice based on real experience is central to what we do at Venn Law Group," says Gary Smith, an attorney at Venn Law Group.
Active members of the N.C. State Bar were asked, "Of the Tar Heel lawyers whose work you have observed firsthand, whom would you rate among the current best in these categories?" Then they are provided with a list of 14 different categories ranging from antitrust, bankruptcy, and corporate to employment, real estate, and tax and estate planning.
While the lawyers were not allowed to vote for themselves, they could vote for other members of their firm, as long as they also voted for individuals from outside of their firm in the same category. The top winner in each category becomes part of the Legal Elite Hall of Fame and cannot win again.
Garth Dunklin was recognized as a top lawyer in the real estate category, while Eric Bass was recognized in the business category. In total, 982 N.C. lawyers were selected, but this accounts for fewer than 4% of active attorneys in the state, making it a prestigious honor.
