ALBANY, N.Y. - Nov. 9, 2020 - Commenting earlier today on the current sad state of affairs regarding the Press and the 2020 Election, Col. Walter T. Richmond, author of the new book "The Official Main Stream Media Field Guide to Creating Impactful Fake News," said, "The Media in America is largely engaging in little more than street theater."

Asked if this is a partisan "Biden vs Trump issue," Richmond answered, "No matter what side of any aisle you're on, it is important that both sides hold each other accountable to tell the truth, regardless of political views or leanings. The truth has no party. Yet, rather than seriously investigating and challenging the many claims of rampant voter fraud, and the equally claimed lack of fraud, much of the Main Stream Media is, instead, playing on people's feelings and emotions trying to sway both sides of the aisle."

Addressing the question of impact, Richmond asked, "Will our children inherit a very transparent and open society that is dedicated to the truth? Or will they complacently accept media actors delivering carefully crafted scripts designed to influence them emotionally while telling them what they are supposed to think?"

As he was wrapping up, Richmond added that his latest book "exposes the many ways the Media is expert at creating stories that fit their personal opinions. From camera angles to video and audio edits, from clever word spinning to gaslighting and strategic repetition, it's all part of an effective way to shape opinions and thoughts."

Taking one final question regarding why any of this matters, Richmond paused momentarily and then said "Why should you care? Because once you see just how easy it is to produce fake content, you'll be able to recognize it more easily and you'll be far more protected against being manipulated yourself… By the way, I bet many of you think it's just journalists expressing themselves with their own honest opinions.
