Imagine your dream house: sleek and effortless; modern yet functional; designed with intent to meet your every need. That’s what clic and unnu are all about. Designed and produced in Denmark, these two brands offer high quality furniture to present modern hi-fi equipment, putting design at the forefront of audio genius.
“Most sound systems are created to please your ears and not your eyes. And those pleasing your eye have often ignored your ears. Clic originated from the idea of creating a luxurious piece of furniture in high quality that hides what needs to be hidden and presents music and sound with a clear sense of style,” says Mike Fabricius, founder of clic and unnu.
Unnu originated from the accomplishments of the clic range. The idea behind unnu was to create a new line of furniture with many of the functions from clic, but at another price point and with its own design and expression.
Mike designed the first clic models in his home back in 1999 and it wasn’t long until the first prototype was ready. At that time the market was unable to deliver a well-thought-out high-quality piece of furniture that met the practical needs of users without compromising on design. The goal was to create functional furniture that would meet more demands of consumers at the same time while showcasing hi-fi products.
Hi-fi furniture should have numerous visible and hidden functions. This way, it allows the individual the freedom of choice in what to display and what to hide. Every detail in the furniture is well thought out – nothing is left to chance. Sound systems, speakers, cables, software, subwoofers, gaming consoles and everything else users would wish to hide can be stored within this furniture – allowing design and sound to dominate the room.
By 2009, the first unnu models were designed and ready for sale the next year. Launching with just three models, unnu has since grown with more models, depths and functions.
Clic Model 130S can be customised with either one, two or three compartments. Users can utilise the full width of the furniture as a soundbar solution, or divide into three compartments for use with other products. The furniture is fitted with three back plates for stability. This model can be left open, or fitted with one big door (fabric or wooden) which opens downwards.
Model 130S has one cable hole in the centre of the top plate and another in the bottom of the unit. Cable holes in each unit are customisable which make it easy to run cables from one piece of furniture to another and suit any set up. The back panels are magnet mounted 5cm from the back of the furniture. The back plates also have cable holes, however can be ordered without.
