NYC folk-rock singer-songwriter releases single exploring COVID-19 conspiracies

NEW YORK - Oct. 28, 2020 - "Folk-rock Rabbi" Gedalya has dropped a new single.

The NYC-based singer-songwriter Gedalya Sloshay, known by his stage name Gedalya, has released the song "Conspiracy Theories," produced by Craig Levy at Little Pioneer Cider House in Manhattan. The song is one of six tracks on his latest EP, "2020 Visionary."

As the name suggests, Conspiracy Theories points to the state of affairs in the world today through the medium of Gedalya's soulful music, which has been garnering followers and fans across cultures, generations, and geographical locations thanks to his growing YouTube channel.

In his lighthearted, upbeat tune, Gedalya's newest song takes a jab at popular conspiracies ranging from the cause of COVID-19 being engineered in a lab to 5G, billionaires with master plans, coronavirus home remedies and cures, and other Internet-fueled conspiracies.

"We all have our own conspiracy theories, especially in a year of political turmoil," Gedalya said. "I was inspired to write this song to offer a little comic relief for people quarantining at home during the pandemic and spending way too much time arguing with their friends and family on social media."

The Conspiracy Theories single can now be streamed at https://gedalyasings.com/track/2502564/conspiracy-theories.

Though he has been performing songs like "If I Were Superman" and "Through the Glass" since the early 1990s, Gedalya released his first single, "The Thunder," in 2017. His socially-aware songs weave together lyrical themes including faith, hardships, and personal growth.

Gedalya performs regularly in traditional venues, on subway platforms, and on YouTube Live. His albums wherever songs can be downloaded and streamed as well as on his own website.
