MCLEAN, Va. - Oct. 4, 2020 - The upcoming 4th Global Bhagavad Gita Convention 2020 (GBGC) will be a 3-day online event from October 10th - 12th, 2020, that is expected to provide a rare opportunity to reset and launch everyone's lives on a sublime path of inner freedom and fearlessness through the great teachings of the Bhagavad Gita. The convention includes Great spiritual teachers and accomplished practitioners who will offer an array of insights and practical wisdom, instilling clarity, and deep commitment to embark on a life transforming spiritual journey boldly. This year's theme is 'Insights Into Bhagavad Gita - Universal Message for Freedom and Fearlessness'.
The visionary of the Convention, Swami Bhoomananda Tirtha of Narayanashrama Tapovanam and CIRD, will be delivering the envisioning address on "What makes Bhagavad Gita Universal". Swami Nirviseshananda Tirtha will be addressing the audience on "Where lies Happiness" and "From bondage to freedom: Two pronged practice in Bhagavad Gita". Swamini Ma Gurupriya will explain how Bhagavad Gita can be instrumental in bringing Peace and Happiness into our lives.
In addition. experts from several fields will be speaking on the Gita's impact and relevance in everyday life. The respected Dr. Sreedharan popularly known as the "Metro Man" will be speaking on how the Bhagavad Gita influenced his professional life, in an interview facilitated by Mr. Bharat Wakhlu, Management Consultant and Executive Coach. Dr. Edwin Bryant, Professor of religions of India at Rutgers University, New Jersey, USA will speak on "Gita, in times of Crisis". Dr. Bryant has published seven books and authored a number of articles on Vedic history, yoga, and the Krishna tradition. Roopa Pai, the notable TEDx Speaker, Computer Engineer, Journalist and Author will speak on day 3 of the Convention on "Raising Fearless Children – the Bhagavad Gita Way". Mr. Jayesh Goyal, Business Leader in the Silicon Valley, USA will facilitate interviews with the speakers.
The conference will also feature a series of art and cultural performances on Bhagavad Gita by accomplished artists. Invocations will be performed by Carnatic Vocalists Ramakrishna Murthy, Vani Ramamurti, and Ajitha Nair, Flute artist Sri Anirudh Bharadwaj, and Hindustani Classical Vocalist Sushma Kashyap Pawan. Bhajans will be presented by Hindustani Classical Vocalist Shubha Chaki. The Convention audience will also have the opportunity to watch an inspiring Bhagavad Gita dance-drama performed by a differently-abled team - 'We are One', from New Delhi, India.
