Land Sales Soar During the Coronavirus Lockdown

SAN DIEGO - Sept. 29, 2020 - Most can agree that the Coronavirus has had an impact on how people live and what the future may hold. The initial shock took hold around March, stores were liquidated and fear struck the world. This was especially true in the big cities, there was a fear amongst people that you could be left without food and supplies. It was a scary realization that maybe being packed in like sardines in a city couldn't be supported during a major crisis. The consensus now is that this probably isn't the last crisis of our lifetime. An uprise in those prepping for more to come is evident in product sales. One of them actually being raw land, but why?

Steven Jablonski, one of the owners of LandZero explains: "I think there was a realization people may be on their own should the city have too much stress. Most everyone was not prepared, they didn't have an emergency place to go to, they were pretty much stuck and completely dependent on the local grocery stores staying stocked. As we saw, it was looking pretty bad for a while."

He Continues, "We saw a major boost in land sales in the following months, we almost ran out of land completely and it was hard to find as well. For us, this made complete sense because it's what we do, we are a big supporter of the off grid living movement and offer affordable to cheap land. Having a place outside of the city to grow food, have shelter and be safe is not a new thing. I think it's just a realization that set in for others when everyone saw the chaos. Those who were already prepared were fine. For our sales, a good amount of our parcels are remote and outside of the big city, they are also low cost and you can buy them right online. There was a good amount of people interested in this option when it all started and the momentum still continues".

According to Google Trends, the search term off gird living rose well over 100% from Pre-Covid months. Survival kits and camping supplies had an absolutely massive boost in sales as well. The world certainly has changed, even the short term future is unknown. We must each decide what is best for our family to be prepared for such events. It's best not to wait or depend on others to be on the safe side.
