Mona Clayton, MSN, RN to Host an International Webinar to Push The 100,000 Future Nurse Initiative

LOS ANGELES - Sept. 7, 2020 - "From Africa to Asia, from the United States to the Philippines, nursing is a part of every culture." -Mona Clayton

Since 2018 and the development of The Nurses Pub, a non-profit foundation, CEO Mona Clayton has sought diverse programming to attract students and to fulfill the global 100,000 future nurse initiative. Since then, the drive for international appeal has occurred via social media platforms. Using Facebook and Instagram, Ms. Clayton has recruited many eager students from nations throughout the world that she never thought could be within reach without traveling.

With Covid-19 at hand, the normally scheduled seminars and other events customary for the foundation were placed on hold. At the same time, Covid-19 was the defining push to consider and enable Ms. Clayton to host a global online seminar to attract students from various nations – a feat never previously achieved within the organization.

On September 8, 2020 at 6:00 P.M. (PST), The Nurses Pub will host, The Student Nurse Bootcamp: Winning 101 Webinar and is open to students from the United States and to all continents.

"We have had an outpouring of registrations and requests from students in Ghana, Jamaica, Nigeria, Philippines, and Egypt, among other countries, wanting to take part in learning how to bridge into the nursing field, how to overcome school obstacles, how to gain scholarships, and how to thrive while being a nursing student. An international admissions counselor from Grand Canyon University will join us to help international students interested in nursing abroad with questions regarding qualifications needed to study abroad," stated Ms. Clayton.

The seminar is scheduled to include a diverse panel of seasoned nursing professionals with a vast array of clinical nurse specialties to share. Over 100 "Survival" gift bags have also been sponsored by the University of Phoenix, Southern California.

"The root of what I am doing is based on what I learned while getting my bachelor's degree at University of Phoenix," stated Ms. Clayton. "It seems like a dream come true, and I am very appreciative of the support that the university has provided with our push to bring nurses to the field. I am proud be an alumnus."

"And the dream to recruit 100,000 future nurses from across the nation. Wow! I see now that it can be done!"
