PIGEON FORGE, Tenn. - Sept. 7, 2020 - The 6th Annual Josie Music Awards Event was celebrated at the Country Tonite Theatre in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee on September 5, 2020 to a sold out socially distanced crowd capacity. The gala event was led with love and support by owners Josie Passantino-Boone and Tinamarie Passantino for all those in the independent music industry. The Josie Music Awards (also know as the JMAs or Josies) is the largest, independent, all genre, music award show and association. You could feel the theatre charged with energy of one big happy family united through music.
Attendees arrived at the excitement of The 6th Annual Josie Music Awards name on the theatre's marque sign street side, the excitement built as lines grew for the red carpets. Glamorous photos were captured by professional photography crews before entering the socially distanced seating inside the theatre. The excitement continued to build through the thrilling opening of the show and the energy could be felt in the air and you knew you were in for something special. Everyone cheered on each other's successes throughout the night and everyone was touched by each motivational acceptance speech.
Incredible highlights of the night included Mr. Bobby Mackey being presented with the Lifetime Career Achievement Award with a picture slide show of great moments from his successful career in the music business. The Musical Achievement Award was presented to Tim Atwood who has had many successes throughout his career which includes over 8,500 performances on the Grand Ole Opry Stage. The Oak Ridge Boys sent a Video congratulating Tim on over 50 years in the music business that was played during his presentation at the Josie Music Awards. The Josie Show Humanitarian Award was presented to Amy McAllister by Kathryn Shipley for her giving spirit and beautiful heart to help everyone she meets. They were all such touching, monumental moments in the show. There were many captivating and fun performances throughout the event as well including Nick Psyhogios & The Chicago Crew, Trace Thompson, The Tennessee River Boys, Tim Atwood, Shotgun Jefferson, Gary Burk III, Colene Wallers, Josie Beth Jones, and Ava Paige who's performance was met with a standing ovation. Then the audience was treated to a performance by the Elizabeth Williams Dance Academy.
