FAIRBANKS, Alaska - Aug. 31, 2020 - Alaska's toughest equipment manufacturer is ready to support the state's aviation industry this winter. Equipment Source, Inc. (ESI) has brand new JCB snow-blowers and skid-steers in stock to clear airfields, as well as a range of ESI-made flight line heaters.
JCB skid-steers are easily maneuverable, especially in tight spaces and busy airfields. Meanwhile, the skid-loaders have unmatched visibility, with a single arm, while prioritizing safety with a heated cab that can be entered from the side. This means the operator doesn't have to climb over the blades.
Alaska's aviation industry creates about 26,000 jobs and contributes an estimated $2.3 billion to the state's economy each year. Flights offer critical lifelines to jobsites and communities in some of the harshest environments and most remote locations on Earth. Arctic challenges require Arctic solutions, and that's where ESI heaters come in.
The ES300-GSE and ES400-GSE Flight Line Heaters are built specifically to perform reliably, no matter the temperature, to support the aviation and remote logistics industries. They are currently available for sale at ESI's stores in Alaska and North Dakota.
These units are portable heating systems built with Flagro firebox technology. They have three six-inch outlet ducts that evenly distribute heat to multiple points on the aircraft, and Riello burners that can run on either jet fuel or diesel.
A 23-gallon fuel tank is built in and has a three-inch fuel spout to accommodate avgas nozzles for convenient refueling anywhere on the tarmac. Large, heavy duty wheels mean it's possible for one person to easily transport it wherever it's needed.
Nick Ferree, ESI Vice President, says the company is proud to support Alaskan aviation.
"Working up here is not like working in other parts of the US. The conditions are very tough, which means our aviation customers need high reliability and an excellent service," he says. "Winter weather conditions can ground planes, so we need to make sure our customers can be as productive as possible as the weather allows. We've always taken an innovative approach to everything we build to make sure it works in Arctic conditions."
