SHIP BOTTOM, N.J. - Aug. 10, 2020 - Due to restrictions currently in place Chowderfest 2020 has morphed into a whole month of activities, chowder purchasing, merchant sales , online Chowderwear store and a brand new virtual run component. The Southern Ocean County Chamber of Commerce who is the organizer of the festivities recognizes that this is an opportunity to keep the community safe and keep this popular 32 year event on the 2020 calendar will present the inaugural Chowder Run Walk Bike Challenge as part of the ChowdeRestaurant & Merchant Month.
The run will be at the challengers own pace, as they set their own course. Registered participants can log in and track their time and distance completing in a day or within the month. The Virtual Chowder Run Challenge will have a real time leader board, They will have access to a downloadable competitor bib and can choose to take part in a 5K Walk/Run, 10K Walk/Run, a 10 or 20 Mile Bike Challenge. All races have a $25 entry fee with a $1.25 sign up fee. This cost includes real time race stats, official Chowder Run Challenge 2020 medal, Finisher Certificate, exclusive runner FB Group and participant runner bib. The medal will be sent upon completion and will be a first edition to be worn to next year's fest with pride. Individual, families or teams of challengers can make this part of their fall schedule, registrations are online now with race taking place September 5 through October 4.
