NORFOLK, Va. - July 28, 2020 - Unreasonable Kids, a social enterprise with one goal to train the next generation of Kid-Superheroes, is a Virginia based non-profit founded by Ateba Gaines. Unreasonable Kids was recognized by the annual UN SDG Action Awards 2020, for creating solidarity within urban communities that help to improve lives, lift hopes, and inspire resilience amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. To continue the mantra, Unreasonable Kids and OpenNorfolk partner to create solidarity in the Norfolk neighborhood of Broad Creek with a FREE two-part educational series on Saturdays (August 8, 15) from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm for ages 6- 10 called Little Superheroes.

OpenNorfolk, a grassroots community initiative, offers programs to residents through the City of Norfolk to assist neighborhoods and communities through outdoor programming to create safe places for families and kids in neighborhood spots in an educational programming pop-up format. Whereas Unreasonable Kids, a social entrepreneurship education program trains the next generation of kid superheroes to answer the call of community advocacy. The FREE two-part educational series Little Superheroes educates kids about the United Nations Sustainable Development goals from ending poverty to zero hunger.

Kid participants will learn how to become a community advocate to create solidarity within their community through out-of-box solutions. "It is about being bold; it's about being innovative; it's about doing things a little differently out of the norm because we are in the situation that is no longer the norm," Councilwoman Mamie B.Johnson, Ward 3, Norfolk, VA. Unreasonable Kids and OpenNorfolk hope to inspire kids to become unreasonable thinkers to embrace the new norm.

Unreasonable Kids inspire Little Superheroes, ages 6 - 9, to release their voice for good. The FREE two-part educational series on Saturdays (August 8, 15) from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm is filled with brain-based learning activities and a creative design curriculum to help little kids develop their social entrepreneurial super-powers.
