PHILADELPHIA - June 25, 2020 - I am a first-generation American of parents from Liberia, West Africa.
I am absolutely proud of that.
Race-based atrocities against Black Americans must be, not just discussed in 2020, but stopped fully forever forward.
Anger and disgust over hundreds of atrocities against Black Americans is completely justified.
I am asking you to stop destroying American statues, and other actions, until after election 2020. I sent a letter to the 2016 presidential candidates suggesting a course of action regarding Law Enforcement relations with Black Americans. It was not used.
There must also be a discussion about addressing the failure of political leaders, of both parties, that allow these grievances to persist and recur 100-plus-years after having been first identified.
Destruction of any historical American remnant can engender destruction of another.
There are parts of African American history here we do not want destroyed. Please stop.
We need a discussion.
Thank you for your consideration,
Abraham B Doe
