Arizona Technology Council Leader Applauds Supreme Court Decision to Protect DACA Program

PHOENIX - June 22, 2020 - Steven G. Zylstra, president and CEO of the Arizona Technology Council, joins major leaders across industries in applauding the U.S. Supreme Court's decision rejecting the Trump administration's attempt to terminate the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program. Zylstra has been a powerful voice in urging Congress to provide protections for DACA recipients.

"The Supreme Court decision is a victory for Arizona and for the country," said Zylstra. "DACA participants have been important contributors to Arizona's technology industry. Nearly 30% of roughly 30,000 DACA recipients in Arizona have worked in the electronic component and product manufacturing sectors, making significant contributions to our industry and economy. We are a stronger state and country because of them. Now we are grateful the Supreme Court did the right thing and ruled for the good of everyone, least of all these hard-working young adults who followed all the rules."
