ATLANTA & GEELONG, Australia - June 10, 2020 - Emrgy Inc., founded in 2014 and based in Atlanta, Georgia USA is excited to announce an exclusive distribution contract with Emrgy Australasia, based in Geelong Victoria, to promote and develop our modular hydrokinetic projects throughout Australasia. The partnership launch includes the initial 100kW (10 module) order delivery to Australia beginning in June 2020.
Emrgy Inc. is a USA based technology company focused on development and implementation of scalable distributed hydropower using solely kinetic power from flowing water. Emrgy turbine modules drop into existing canals without the need for dams or costly construction. The company is currently developing customer installations in several sites across North America, Europe, and South Asia.
This partnership will lead the expansion of Emrgy's hydropower turbines to new customers in Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands, helping them generate power from existing water infrastructure and generate new revenue streams. Emrgy's modular turbines can be installed throughout a waterway, producing from 10kW - 2MW per hydro array. Hydropower naturally generates 24/7 baseload power, without the need for expensive energy storage like batteries. Together, the partners seek to develop the untapped hydrokinetic energy potential in the region where grid electricity prices can be a burden for customers.
Emrgy Founder and CEO Emily Morris said, "This partnership combines cutting edge innovation with a passionate Australian team who has embraced our products' incredible benefits for the region. It aligns perfectly with our vision for expanding the benefits of hydropower and supporting renewable energy generation and delivery worldwide. We are thrilled to work with Emrgy Australasia to grow our market share and serve more customers across the world with clean, reliable electric power."
Sheridan Douglas, Sales Manager of Emrgy Australasia said, "Growing up on a Riverina irrigation property where my family has farmed for generations, I'm very familiar with the challenges our rural communities face. Emrgy turbines offer a huge opportunity to utilise our existing channels and waterways that will directly benefit the agriculture sector as well as create jobs and manufacturing in our regional hubs. Having the expertise and support of the Emrgy team allows us to focus on working with our local Irrigation Councils and water bodies to deploy the modules in a cost effective and timely manner."
This new agreement highlights the rapidly growing market for distributed energy technologies and shows Emrgy's commitment to making hydropower even more flexible, reliable, and cost effective.
